Aureobasidin A

Description:
Aureobasidin A is a cyclic depsipeptide antibiotic with a molecular weight of approximately 1,100 Da. It is isolated from Aureobasidium pullulans R106. Aureobasidin A is toxic to fungi and yeast at low concentrations (0.1-0.5 μg/μL), including Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Candida albicans.

Form:
The antibiotic is supplied lyophilized, and should be reconstituted in ethanol or methanol at a stock concentration of 0.5-5.0 mg/mL. It is almost insoluble in water. Stock solutions should be stored at 4°C.
