Description:
Heme oxygenase is known to exist as at least two isozymes (heme oxyganase-1 and heme oxganase-2). While heme oxgenase-2 is a consititutive enzyme, heme oxiganase-1(HO-1) is an enzyme whose expression is induced intracellularly in response to various type of stress. Thus, monitoring of heme oxygenase-1 is expected to be effective to detect stress. The Mouse Heme Oxygenase-1 EIA Kit is a sandwich ELISA kit that uses 2 types of antibodies that recognize mouse heme oxygenase-1 and provides a convenient and highly sensitive method for detecting heme oxygenase-1 expressed in response to stress induction.
Monoclonal Antibodies. This kit uses clone GTS-1 (Cat.# M174) as solid antibody and polyclonal Anti-Heme oxygenase-1 as labeled antibody.

| Specificity: | This kit specifically measures mouse HO-1 with no detectable cross reaction with mouse HO-2. It cannot be used for human, rabbit or guinea pig. This kit can also be used to measure rat HO-1 with rat HO-1 standard. But the MK124 kit is the most appropriate to measure rat HO-1 in a rat sample. |
